Revolver Cannabis

Revolver Cannabis are a regional Mexican group hailing from Culiacan, Sinaloa, Mexico. Conceived in early 2011 by producer and songwriter Giovanni Cabrera, the band's founding members also include Carlos Enríquez (accordion and vocals), David Garcia (bajo sexto and vocals), Eduardo Beltran (tuba), and Alexander Medina (drums). What sets Revolver Cannabis apart is their sound, a hybrid that uses traditional elements of banda and norteño in an entirely different way; they call their style "bachata norteño." The group's first album was the live Las Que les Gustan a los Viejones, issued in February of 2012 by Del Records; it showcased their energy and sonic hybrid and quickly resonated digitally. It was followed by the studio offering Seremos Eternos... Pero por Ahora Somos los Que Estamos in August; it quickly hit the top of the Billboard Regional Mexican charts. Its first single, "Enamorada de Tu Blackberry," won a top spot. The recording was such a hit that the label followed it with a second in-concert album, Que Les Gustan a los Viejones, Vol. 2: En Vivo con Tololoche, in September of 2013. Their studio follow-up, Balas, Rosas y Plomo, was issued in 2014 and peaked at number five on the Top Latin Albums chart, while its video singles racked up tens of millions of views on YouTube. The single "El de los Lentes Carrera" placed in the Top 40 on the Digital Songs Sales list. The five-track EP Amos del Terror was issued by Del while Revolver Cannabis were on tour during 2015; they remained on the road until the end of the following year. After only a brief rest, the band reentered the studio and emerged with the full-length La Ruleta Sigue Girando in May 2017.
