Murda

Murda, also known as Murda Turk, is the stage name of Turkish-Dutch rapper Önder Doğan, born in Amsterdam on January 30, 1984. He spent most of his childhood between Madrid and Istanbul, where he found solace in hip-hop after a series of difficult family circumstances. Upon returning to the Netherlands, Murda jumped feet first into the local rap scene through collaborations with Fresku and the rap collective Militant Union. He later signed with Jiggy Djé's Noah's Ark label and released his debut EP Turkse Pizza (2008), which included cameos by SpaceKees, Jiggy Djé , Heist Rockah, Willie Wartaal, and Vieze Fur. Produced by FS Green, his first full-length De Kassier (Een Monnie Album) appeared in 2010 and climbed to Number 55 on the Dutch charts, earning Murda several nominations for the State Awards. After the release of the EP Goeie Dingen in 2014, he issued a series of standalone singles throughout 2015 that were later compiled in his 2016 full-length We Doen Ons Best. In 2017, his third LP Bruin Brood, recorded with Hef and BangBros, cracked the Top 10 of the Dutch Top 100. In 2019, Murda scored his first Number 1 single through a feature on Priceless' chart-topping single "Rompe" and released a third full-length titled Baba later that year. Starting in 2020, he reconnected with his Turkish roots on the albums DOĞA and Made in Turkey, a joint effort with fellow MC Ezhel. 2022 found the rapper in top form as his single "Imdat" reached Number 10 on the Turkish streaming charts.
