Jinyoung

A core member of JYP Entertainment boy group GOT7, South Korean vocalist, actor, and dancer Jinyoung built his career during the 2010s, landing three chart-topping albums under the GOT7 umbrella while building a strong career as a musician, actor, and TV host. After the group's disbandment in 2021, the multi-talented performer made his solo debut with the 2023 mini-album Chapter 0: With. Born in Changwon's Jinghae-gu district, South Korean vocalist Park Jin-young (known as Jinyoung) realized his ambitions of stardom at a young age after finding initial success at an audition for SM Entertainment during his primary school years. Upon landing a deal with JYP in 2009, the young performer began to hone his talent in multiple projects, making an acting debut on the TV drama Dream High 2, performing on the show's soundtrack as a vocalist and debuting as the musical duo JJ Project with fellow trainee JB. His talents were soon recognized by his new organization, which announced him as a member of their new boy group, GOT7, in 2014. With GOT7, Jinyoung used his talents to propel himself to international fame. The group's debut EP, Got It?, landed at number two on the Gaon Album Chart and number one on the Billboard World Albums Chart -- a streak that would continue through the 2010s as the group landed one number one album after another. From 2014 to 2021, GOT7 issued four Korean-language studio albums (three of which landed at number one on the Gaon charts), a Japanese-language studio album (Moriagatteyo), and 16 EPs in both languages, all of which charted in the Top Three of their country of release. As a lead vocalist and primary visual component of the group, Jinyoung lent his strong vocal abilities to the GOT7 project. and built a strong career as an actor and music show host, landing his first leading role in 2018's He Is Psychometric, amid award show wins and lucrative branding opportunities. After the group's contract expired in 2021, Jinyoung signed a solo contract with BH Entertainment, releasing his debut solo single "Dive" later that year. Further moves into fashion and acting defined his output during the early 2020s before he released his debut mini-album, Chapter 0: With, in January 2023. Embracing airy sonics and reflective lyricism, the five-track project debuted at number nine on the Korean charts.
