Exile on Main St. ist ein schweres Album, und das bezieht sich nicht nur auf die Texte. Es treibt die Trostlosigkeit, die Let It Bleed und Sticky Fingers unterfüttert hat, bis zum Äußersten. Die Musik ist eine Folge düsterer, dichter Jams, in denen Keith Richards und Mick Taylor unglaubliche Riffs und Solos abliefern. Ihr Country klingt nicht länger gezwungen oder kitschig - er steht mitten im Leben, ist komplex, genau wie die Ausflüge der Gruppe zu Soul und Gospel. Sämtliche Songs sind nicht nur fantastisch (inklusive der Meisterwerke „Rocks Off“, „Tumbling Dice“, „Torn and Frayed“ und „Shine a Light“), sondern fügen sich auf gut zusammen. Exile on Main St.Greeted erhielt nach der Veröffentlichung zweifelsohne gemischte Kritiken, wird aber im Allgemeinen als das beste Album der Rolling Stones angesehen - ein bemerkenswert hoher Standard für den gesamten Hard Rock.

Albumbeschreibung
Exile on Main St. ist ein schweres Album, und das bezieht sich nicht nur auf die Texte. Es treibt die Trostlosigkeit, die Let It Bleed und Sticky Fingers unterfüttert hat, bis zum Äußersten. Die Musik ist eine Folge düsterer, dichter Jams, in denen Keith Richards und Mick Taylor unglaubliche Riffs und Solos abliefern. Ihr Country klingt nicht länger gezwungen oder kitschig - er steht mitten im Leben, ist komplex, genau wie die Ausflüge der Gruppe zu Soul und Gospel. Sämtliche Songs sind nicht nur fantastisch (inklusive der Meisterwerke „Rocks Off“, „Tumbling Dice“, „Torn and Frayed“ und „Shine a Light“), sondern fügen sich auf gut zusammen. Exile on Main St.Greeted erhielt nach der Veröffentlichung zweifelsohne gemischte Kritiken, wird aber im Allgemeinen als das beste Album der Rolling Stones angesehen - ein bemerkenswert hoher Standard für den gesamten Hard Rock.
