À propos
Fille d'un père né au Nigeria et d'une Rom née en Allemagne, Ayo a exploré le monde à l'âge de 21 ans et s'est installée à Londres. Elle a attiré l'attention à Paris et à New York lorsqu'elle a ouvert des concerts pour des artistes néo-soul comme Omar et Cody Chestnutt. Elle a écrit elle-même les chansons de son premier album "Joyful" (2006) et a rencontré le producteur de Norah Jones, Jay Newland. Ils ont enregistré l'album sous contrat avec Polydor en cinq jours seulement. Leur style de musique unique, qui combine la soul, la musique du monde et parfois même des éléments de rock (comme sur l'album "Billie-Eve" 2011, du nom de leur fille), s'est répandu sur toutes les scènes du monde. "Royal", son 6ème album studio, est sorti en janvier 2020.
