Kikumoto Allstars

Kikumoto Allstars is the alias of Cam Farrar, an Australian producer whose tracks are modeled explicitly on the classic early Chicago house of the 1980s. First drawn to electronic music in his childhood after seeing Devo on Australian TV, Farrar was involved in his teens as a drummer and songwriter for punk and new wave-inspired bands, but later turned his attention to electronica. In the late 2000s, citing the influence of house originators Marshall Jefferson, Larry Heard, Adonis, and DJ Pierre, and adopting a new moniker in homage to Tadao Kikumoto, the Roland engineer responsible for the legendary TR-909 and TB-303, among other machines, Farrar began releasing singles on DJ Hell's International Deejay Gigolos label. His full-length debut, given the self-explanatory title House Music, and produced entirely with vintage Roland analog synths and drum machines, was issued in May of 2009.
