John Brack

b. Hans Heinrich Brack, 4 April 1950, Zürich, Switzerland. A European singer-songwriter who is known in his own native land as Mr. Swiss Country. He trained as a classical singer and passed an audition for the Zürich Opera, but after visiting America, he acquired a love of country music instead. He sang in a duo in 1975, but by 1979, he was a successful solo artist in Europe and recording for EMI Records. During the 80s, he recorded albums in Nashville, Tennessee some produced by Randy Scruggs, and enhanced his reputation by playing major festivals including London’s Wembley Festival, Zürich’s International Country Music Festival and appearances at the annual Fan Fair in Nashville. His 1985Strong Feelings is claimed to be Switzerland’s first CD release. He recorded an album in 1988 with Australian country singer Jeff Turner, with whom he later toured and made further recordings, including a gospel album. In 1991, Brack recordedFace To Face, an album of duets with some US singers, including Bobby Bare, Paul Overstreet, Moe Bandy, Linda Davis and Stella Parton. In the new millennium Brack continues to be a popular act performing over 100 concerts a year in his homeland and abroad.
