Street People
A New Jersey group produced by Ray Dahrouge; their first single surfaced in 1974 on Spring Records; but "I Wanna Get Over" never ignited and Ray switched them to Vigor Records for five singles and an album issued from 1974 to 1977. The Street People were Roy Daniels, Milton Daniels, Tom Williams, Joe Gardner, and Rick Johnson. The clubs were the aim of their first Vigor single "Never Get Enough Of Your Love"; it was followed by "You're My One Weakness Girl" in 1976. A third single "I Wanna Spend My Whole Life With You," flopped. The fourth single proved the charm "I Wanna Slow Dance With You Baby," is Street People's most memorable recording, though its success was only regional. A final single "Liberated Lady" b/w "Rerun From An Old Time Movie," did nothing and they disbanded. Their sole album Street People, contains all the Vigor singles. Joe Gardner sung with the Valtairs prior to Street People with Harry Ray (Moments, Ray, Goodman & Brown).
