Perry Como profite à plein de l'essor de la radio et plus encore de la télévision, où ses shows réunissent toute la famille devant la petite lucarne.
Baryton à la voix langoureuse, Perry Como reste musicalement ancré dans les années trente et quarante, avec des mélodies tout droit venues de Broadway et du Brill Building. La plupart des vingt-et-un titres regroupés sur The Very Best of Perry Como ont été des top cinq du Billboard et sont devenus des classiques.
Qui ne connaît pas « Till the End of Time », « Don't Let the Stars Get in Your Eyes », « Wanted », « Magic Moments », « If », « Some Enchanted Evening », et autres « Prisoner of Love » ?
