On The Versions, the second disc in a two-disc series compiling the next eight releases on their highly acclaimed Burial Mix imprint, the mighty Rhythm & Sound return with a maelstrom of subbass and their minimal version of dub. These versions (instrumentals) are a perfect study into the production of the Rhythm & Sound troupe and highlight the dense atmospheric production values that have become their signature sound and textbook inspiration for most minimal techno producers. With the vocals stripped away from them, the compositions are equally as strong and stand on their own as a force to be reckoned with. It's a perfect release to study the evolution of Rhythm & Sound's production style from their earliest excursions to the present day. Absolutely essential for fans of dub and minimal techno.
