A peine deux ans après avoir publié leur premier album, les Traveling Wilburys remettent le couvert au printemps 1990. Une suite au titre un brin farceur (Vol.3 et non Vol.2 comme la logique l’aurait voulu) marqué par la perte d’un de ses membres fondateurs, Roy Orbison, décédé en décembre 1988. Reste donc à bord tout de même Bob Dylan, George Harrison, Tom Petty et Jeff Lynne. Un événement qui rend ce deuxième album un brin moins essentiel même s’il demeure un grand disque de classic rock. Les quatre légendes abordent ce deuxième opus de manière plus puissante, les guitares prenant le contrôle des hostilités d’entrée de jeu.
