Pour la sortie de leur 8ème album en 2011, Radiohead a créé la polémique au cœur de sa communauté de fans. Le contenu de The King Of Limbs est difficile d’accès, syncopé et parfois indigeste à la première écoute. Souvent épileptique, les chansons de cet opus sont marquées par une production où les rythmes sont prédominants. A défaut de mélodies aériennes comme dans In Rainbows, The King Of Limbs préfère la froideur des beats électroniques. Dans la continuité du travail effectué sur Amnesiac ou Kid A, on retrouve malgré tout un ensemble cohérent qui a besoin de se faire apprivoiser après quelques écoutes. Bien sûr, des chansons de grande qualité sont au rendez-vous : Lotus Flower, Feral, Give Up The Ghost… Comme d’habitude, Radiohead a porté un grand soin à ses productions et elles regorgent toutes de détails infinis. The King Of Limbs démontre une fois de plus que le groupe n’est pas prêt d’arrêter sa perpétuelle évolution. © AR/Qobuz
