Il y a une naïveté saisissante dans l'incursion soudaine de Panic at the Disco en territoire pop symphonique psychédélique sur Pretty. Odd. Ce pillage à la fois premier degré et audacieux du répertoire des Beatles fait pourtant son effet tant tout emprunt aux Fab Four garantit un accent mis sur les mélodies plutôt que sur le style. Mais un certain humour (on rit avec ou d'eux en proportions égales) donne à Pretty. Odd. une forme d'absurdité, le groupe y semblant déterminé à livrer une musique ample et pompeuse tout en gardant un côté farceur. Ce disque est peut-être la preuve que Panic at the Disco ne sont pas sûrs de ce qu'il font, mais le fait est que la recette fonctionne, en dépit ou peut-être grâce à cet état de fait.

Chronique

Il y a une naïveté saisissante dans l'incursion soudaine de Panic at the Disco en territoire pop symphonique psychédélique sur Pretty. Odd. Ce pillage à la fois premier degré et audacieux du répertoire des Beatles fait pourtant son effet tant tout emprunt aux Fab Four garantit un accent mis sur les mélodies plutôt que sur le style. Mais un certain humour (on rit avec ou d'eux en proportions égales) donne à Pretty. Odd. une forme d'absurdité, le groupe y semblant déterminé à livrer une musique ample et pompeuse tout en gardant un côté farceur. Ce disque est peut-être la preuve que Panic at the Disco ne sont pas sûrs de ce qu'il font, mais le fait est que la recette fonctionne, en dépit ou peut-être grâce à cet état de fait.
