Au cas où vous n'auriez pas vu le jeu de mot du titre du second album de Jason Mraz, Mr. A-Z reprend son nom de famille : ça illustre tout à fait son égocentrisme. La pop souple, légèrement funky-jazzy rappelle Dave Matthews et les chanteurs/compositeurs qui ont suivi son sillage. Il adore sortir des cascades de mots à coups de rimes de type moon/june et de répétitions, et caser autant de mots que possible dans une phrase. Toutes ces caractéristiques étaient présentes sur le premier album, mais après un certain succès, Mraz se contente de se faire plaisir sur Mr. A-Z, à construire des chansons qui groovent dans le seul but d'avoir une base sur laquelle il puisse chanter à propos lui-même. Ceux qui ont aimé le premier album vont se régaler.
