Bassist Martin Turner left just after this release, and it's easy to see why. The playing is fine, with Andy Powell and Laurie Wisefield sometimes recapturing the band's historic twin-guitar magic. But the veteran quartet also verges on self-parody at times. Even the best among the unimpressive material had been done better before.
