In the grand scheme of things, eccentric Irish trio The Pale may prove to be little more than a novelty blip, but you have to give them full points for originality on their debut outing Here's One We Made Earlier. Dancy rhythms bordering on disco and ska propel lead mandolin riffs borrowed from traditional Eastern European melodies. Over this ethno-stew, Matthew Devereux's manic vocal delivery nicely complements a set of witty, uncentered lyrics. Try the wrily perceptive "Mother Nature Is A Man," or the demented "Dogs With No Tails"
