Derrière la tubesque chanson-titre destinée au film de Richard Lester, Help ! montre des Fab Four en pleine évolution artistique. Tout au long de ce cinquième album qui parait en août 1965, l’art des Beatles se fait de plus en plus bigarré, leurs textes s’éloignent de la naïveté de leurs débuts et leur instrumentarium s’enrichit lui aussi. Et aux côtés des éternelles chansons innocentes et exaltées à la Help !, on croise également de sublimes ballades comme Yesterday ou You've Got To Hide Your Love Away. Même Ticket To Ride propose une rythmique pêchue assez inédite couplée à un son de guitare bien tranchant.
