Même si Ray Charles, l'un des plus grands chanteurs du XXe siècle, n'a jamais eu besoin d'assistance au niveau vocal, c'était un habitué du duo. Sur Genius Loves Company, son dernier projet avant son décès en 2004, il s'acoquine avec un bon mélange d'artistes. Il se joint à Elton John pour une exploration mélancolique du titre de ce dernier, "Sorry Seems to Be the Hardest Word" et se glisse à côté de Willie Nelson pour entamer une version envoûtante du tube de Frank Sinatra "It Was a Very Good Year". Mais tout n'est pas mélancolique ; Ray Charles s'associe avec Van Morrison pour une magnifique interprétation soul/gospel de la mélodie de Van Morisson "Crazy Love". C'est un chant du cygne parfait, le génie en titre entouré par ses amis, qu'il a tous touchés avec son talent unique.

Même si Ray Charles, l'un des plus grands chanteurs du XXe siècle, n'a jamais eu besoin d'assistance au niveau vocal, c'était un habitué du duo. Sur Genius Loves Company, son dernier projet avant son décès en 2004, il s'acoquine avec un bon mélange d'artistes. Il se joint à Elton John pour une exploration mélancolique du titre de ce dernier, "Sorry Seems to Be the Hardest Word" et se glisse à côté de Willie Nelson pour entamer une version envoûtante du tube de Frank Sinatra "It Was a Very Good Year". Mais tout n'est pas mélancolique ; Ray Charles s'associe avec Van Morrison pour une magnifique interprétation soul/gospel de la mélodie de Van Morisson "Crazy Love". C'est un chant du cygne parfait, le génie en titre entouré par ses amis, qu'il a tous touchés avec son talent unique.
