The debut single by London indie-pop urchins Betty and the Werewolves is all rattletrap clank and sugar-high enthusiasm. EUSTON STATION positions the three gals (and one guy) as a high-school dream of adorable noise and cheap thrift store guitars. “Euston Station” itself is all “ahh-ahhhh, woooo-ooooh” backup vocals, ringing post-Beatle jangle, and garage-grit mini-solos, while “Wind Up” subsists on twist-worthy stabs of jerky guitar. This first single shows plenty of wide-eyed promise and girlish glee.
