Paru en 2016, Eterno Agosto, premier album solo du chanteur et compositeur espagnol Alvaro Soler, constitue la seconde incarnation d'une collection de titres majoritairement initialement publiés sous le titre El Mismo Sol en 2015. Après un démarrage encourageant pour ce dernier en dehors des frontières ibères notamment grâce à la présence de Jenifer Lopez sur une version alternative de "El Mismo Sol", la décision est prise par Universal de distribuer le disque plus largement et ce dernier, avec l'appui du succès du single "Sofia", impose effectivement la pop hispanophone ensoleillée de Soler un peu partout en Europe, de l'Italie à la Hollande en passant par l'Allemagne, la Belgique, la France ou encore la Finlande.
