Christopher Bissonnette
Along with Mark Laliberte and Chris McNamara, Windsor, Ontario-based multimedia artist Christopher Bissonnette founded Thinkbox, a collective that performed in galleries and clubs (including appearances at 2003's Movement Festival in Detroit and 2004's Mutek Festival in Montreal), and self-released a couple compilations (Settings and Guitar). Later in the decade, Bissonnette released a pair of quietly stirring ambient albums -- Periphery (2005) and the slightly darker In Between Words (2008) -- through the Kranky label. The following decade, he released a limited Chat Blanc EP titled The Banal and the Profound (2010), collaborated with David Wenngren for the Home Normal release The Meridians of Longitude and Parallels of Latitude (2011), and then continued with Kranky for Essays in Idleness (2014), the last of which was made with a self-made analog synthesizer.
