Alina Rotaru
Alina Rotaru was raised in Bucharest, where she studied piano and choral conducting at the Academy of Music. She moved to Germany in 1999 to study harpsichord with Siegbert Rampe, Wolfgang Kostujak, Carsten Lohff, and Detlef Bratschke, and she studied with Bob van Asperen in Amsterdam. Rotaru is an instructor of harpsichord at the University of the Arts in Bremen, and she performs internationally. She has recorded the music of Jan Pieterszoon Sweelinck and Johann Jacob Froberger for Carpe Diem, and a CD of works by William Byrd, John Bull, and Orlando Gibbons for Sono Luminus.
