A l’heure où les suites font fureur au cinéma comme en librairie, ABC frappe fort avec la suite d’un album que le groupe britannique a conçu 34 ans plus tôt ! En 1982, The Lexicon Of Love emmené par son single The Look Of Love plafonne au sommet des charts avec son alliage de synth-pop et de new wave sucrée. Retour à 2016. Les cheveux de Martin Fry, cerveau d’ABC âgé de 58 ans, sont désormais grisonnants mais sa pop elle n’a pas pris une ride. Toujours aussi luxuriante car trempée dans des violons (pilotés par l’ex-Art of Noise, Anne Dudley) soyeux au possible. Fry s’affiche ici en expert du genre, ajoutant quelques touches de soul quand nécessaire. Un comeback rondement mené. © CM/Qobuz
