Six ans d’inactivité avaient précédé Happiness Begins, l’album du retour de la fratrie Jonas Brothers, synonyme de reconquête des charts avec une première place acquise aux États-Unis. Quatre ans plus tard, Kevin, Joe et Nick Jonas reviennent avec The Album, un album majoritairement produit par le chanteur Jon Bellion, qui intervient en prime au chant sur « Walls », lequel clôt l’opus sur une touche épique entre folk, pop et electro. L’album s’illumine de plusieurs tubes incontournables tels le funky « Waffle House », « Sail Away » et sa neo soul soyeuse ou le rétro « Wings » qui doit beaucoup à Michael Jackson et Stevie Wonder. Très actuel par sa dimension pop-rock tout en multipliant les coups d’œil dans le rétro en direction du funk, il tombe parfois dans des formules éculées (« Celebrate » qui va chercher du côté de Chic autant que Bruno Mars) mais flatte l’oreille et s’insinue dans les esprits pour ne plus les quitter à l’instar du fédérateur « Montana Sky ».
