Pour son sixième enregistrement studio qui parait en février 1975, Led Zeppelin a vu grand et déballe un double album de quinze titres ! Surtout, Jimmy Page et Robert Plant semblent revenir ici à la hargne du hard-rock de leurs débuts. Avec des embardées comme Custard Pie, The Rover ou bien encore In My Time Of Dying, l’énergie est de sortie et les riffs de Page font très mal. Mais Led Zep propose ici ce qu’il sait également faire, à savoir des ballades habitées comme avec avec Down By Seaside, des parenthèses acoustiques (Bron-Y-Aur) mais aussi des expériences de fusion world comme sur le mythique Kashmir, sommet de l’album où les violons arabisants donnent à la musique une saveur inédite. © MD/Qobuz
