Les années passent, filent même, et Emmylou Harris et Rodney Crowell sentaient cette nécessité de graver un instant partagé. C’est chose faite avec Old Yellow Moon enregistré à Nashville. Leurs routes s'étaient croisées à de nombreuses reprises depuis 1974 lorsque la plus belle voix de la country music embarqua l'une des plus fines gâchettes de Nashville en tournée avec elle... Il y a des saveurs californiennes de la fin des 70’s dans cette rencontre au répertoire éclectique. Piochant aussi bien dans celui d’Emmylou que dans les standards (Roger Miller. Ou Allen Reynolds pour une magnifique version de Dreaming My Dreams), cette Old Yellow Moon a des teintes automnales de toute beauté. Aucune surprise, ni effets de manche gratuit là-dedans.
