Meet the Brady Bunch is the first album from the sitcom family and, with its light, vaguely hippie sentiments and music, it set the pace for all that follows. Musically, Meet the Brady Bunch isn't worth much -- it's all crass, cheaply produced pop music that was designed to cash in on a particular moment in history -- but it has value not only as a camp artifact, but also as evidence of how quickly the mainstream can co-opt and dilute the counter-culture. The 1996 compact disc reissue contains a handful of bonus tracks from the Chris Knight and Maureen McCormick duet album, which make their CD debut on this disc. © Stephen Thomas Erlewine /TiVo
