Gazo, l’un des principaux artisans de l’avènement du style drill en France, s’est imposé en tête des charts à la force de sa première mixtape, Drill FR, sortie en 2021. Sans attendre, le rappeur aux dreadlocks et au sourire doré s’est employé à lui donner une suite. Elle prend le nom de KMT et dévoile un univers plus mélodique, comme le suggèrent dès les premiers instants « Becte » et ses arpèges de guitare mélancoliques et « Bodies » et son piano emprunté à « Nocturne, Op. 9, N°2 en Mi bémol majeur » de Chopin, sur lequel Damso intervient. Le contraste est ainsi saisissant entre le raffinement de l’instrumentation et les basses profondes caractéristiques de la drill. Il l’est également à l'écoute du flow brutal du rappeur et de ses propos évoquant la rue et sa loi. Les interventions des collaborateurs sont loin d’être accessoires et constituent une vraie plus-value, tels que le flow addictif de M Huncho sur « M.A.LA. » ou celui de Ninho sur « Mauvais 2X ».
