Avec la participation d'invités comme Rivers Cuomo, Natasha Bedingfield, K'naan, et Alex Gaskarth de All Time Low, le quatrième album de Simple Plan reprend la punk-pop effrontée du groupe, avec le producteur de hard rock Brian Howes aux manettes, et l'intégralité des membres du groupe. La production, dynamique et impeccable, met en avant les guitares et les chants hymniques du groupe, sans encombrer l'ensemble de cordes, d'électronique ou autres supercheries de studio. Simple Plan peut paraître trop vieux pour écrire ce genre de musique, qui sonne comme si elle était toujours destinée aux adolescents, mais cela ne signifie pas qu'ils aient perdu leur talent en la matière, et Get Your Heart On! est tout aussi mélodieux que les premiers albums du groupe.
