Dès ce premier album, Jodeci se fait connaître grâce aux singles « Come and Talk to Me », « Forever My Lady » et « Stay », qui deviennent des tubes. L’album s’écoule à plus de trois millions d’exemplaires et se classe au Billboard 200.
Tout comme les autres artistes New Jack Swing, Jodeci n’échappe pas à la règle et intègre à son album des slows et ballades langoureuses comme « Gotta Love », « Stay », « Come and Talk to Me » et « Forever My Lady », titre écrit par Al. B Sure !, référence majeure du genre.
Le rythme lent est cassé sur la deuxième partie de l’album, avec des morceaux plus rapides et dansants tels que « My Phone », « It’s Alright » ou encore « XS We Share ». Ils se rapprochent fortement du R&B.
Paroles sulfureuses sur des musiques langoureuses : le sexe est un thème récurrent chez Jodeci. Les quatre imposent rapidement une image de bad boys du New Jack Swing.
