Publié en 2020 et succédant à sa participation à The Voice Belgique en 2016, au succès rencontré par le titre "City Lights" avec lequel elle a défendu son pays à l'Eurovision 2017 puis à un chapelet de singles parus courant 2018, EMPIRE constitue le premier album studio de l'autrice-compositrice-interprète bruxelloise Ellie Delvaux, alias Blanche. Au fil d'une collection de douze compositions synthpop douce-amères mettant en avant sa voix grave et son timbre granuleux, l'album voit notamment la chanteuse livrer les singles "Empire", "Fences" ou "1, 2, Miss You", participant à le propulser en septième position de l'Ultratop wallon ainsi qu'en vingt-deuxième position de son pendant flamand.
