Née d’un père ghanéen et d’une mère allemande, Jennifer Yaa Akoto Kieck, est élevée dans un milieu très cosmopolite. Elle voit le jour à Hambourg, grandit au Ghana, séjourne au Cameroun, au Togo puis au Tchad avant de revenir à Hambourg en passant par Lomé et Paris. Babyblues, son premier opus, consigne admirablement un recueil de chansons à l’écho profond. Elle fait cohabiter avec talent des morceaux tels que Moving, mélangeant expérimental et mystique mélancolique, l’enjoué Good Better Best, référence endiablée aux traditions des danses africaines, ou Tamba, racontant l’effroyable destinée des enfants soldats africains.
