Depuis les années 1980, les Têtes raides cultivent un univers singulier, quelque part entre le rock alternatif, l’univers du cirque et un réalisme poétique à la Prévert. En 2016, le chanteur du groupe, Christian Olivier, commença une carrière solo en développant plus ou moins l’esthétique de son célèbre groupe. Dans le présent album, il enrobe une sorte de douce amertume (Esperanza) au sein de messages politiques forts – et naturellement orientés à gauche (Non). Musicalement, Christian Olivier fait montre d’éclectisme en déclarant sa flamme à la fois au reggae (Kikadi), à la valse pour accordéon (Par là) et au punk-rock (After avant, Putain putain), tout en étant attiré par les formations éclectiques et bigarrées (un quatuor à cordes marié à une fanfare dans l’instrumental Les Sols). Petite nouveauté chez Christian Olivier : une petite touche électro (due à Pierre-Antoine Combard) pointe le bout de son nez ici et là, notamment dans l’inquiétante Métamorphose. © Nicolas Magenham/Qobuz
