On his third Pole album, 3, producer Stefan Betke moves further toward ambient minimalism without forsaking his dub-techno approach. As before, these are first-rate productions, but by the third album, the novelty of his style has lost some of its initial appeal -- not that there's anything wrong with the music, which is well-produced and greatly evocative, just that it's beginning to sound predictable.
