Les deux rappeurs réunis ici n'ont pas le même statut. Depuis la sortie de Black and Yellow, l'indépassable tube rap de l'année 2010 devenu l'hymne de son Pittsburgh d'adoption, Wiz Khalifa a assuré sa place tout en haut de la chaîne alimentaire du rap, enchaînant les succès commerciaux au détriment toutefois d'une vraie adhésion des puristes. Curren$y, au contraire, a une côte intacte depuis ses débuts en 2002 mais n'est guère connu du grand public. D'abord repéré par le ponte sudiste Master P puis enrôlé par Lil Wayne au sein de son label Young Money, c'est finalement en marge du star-system rap que le MC de La Nouvelle-Orléans va faire carrière, signant nombre de mixtapes et d'albums chéris par les spécialistes. En 2009, les deux rookies Khalifa et Curren$y s'étaient rencontrés à la faveur d'une mixtape qui affola les compteurs des sites de téléchargement et devint culte, How Fly, et retrouvés en 2013 le temps d'un EP, Live in Concert.
Ils s'offrent ici un trip nostalgique, sur des productions construites autour de belles boucles (Find a Way) et portées par un groove qu'on prend plaisir à réentendre. Doté d'un grain inimitable et d'un flow savoureux qui donne l'impression qu'il rappe allongé dans une chaise à bascule, le flegmatique Curren$y – petit maître du smooth rap – est toujours un excellent contrepoint au rap plus extraverti et tenu de Wiz Khalifa, capable de vraies fulgurances et de refrains chantés impec (No Clout Chasin).
