Young Rog

Versatile singer/rapper and producer Young Rog has been active since the mid-2010s and affiliated with LVRN, the well-regarded label home to the likes of 6LACK and duet partner Summer Walker, since 2018. While with LVRN, he has taken a slow and steady approach with his output, offering a handful of singles -- such as the cold-blooded "New" and lithe slow jam "Destiny" -- up to the 2021 release of Boy Next Door, his first full-length recording. A native of Newport News, Virginia, Roger Atwell started to make a name for himself as Young Rog around 2014 with SoundCloud uploads. Among his earliest and most popular tracks were the self-produced "Think I'm Flexin" and the Takeoff collaboration "Workin." Subsequently added to the roster of the Interscope-distributed LVRN (short for Love Renaissance), Rog was behind three singles issued commercially from 2018 through 2020: "Ex-mas Song," "New," and "On the Road." He entered 2021 by teaming with labelmate Summer Walker for "Bullshit," followed shortly thereafter by another R&B cut, "Destiny." The full-length Boy Next Door arrived that June.
