Soft Metals
Drawing inspiration from eclectic influences such as psych-rock, shoegaze, house, techno, and soundtracks, the evocative synth pop duo Soft Metals is keyboardist/programmer Ian Hicks and singer Patricia Hall. The pair began working together in Portland, Oregon in early 2009 and became a romantic couple soon after. After signing to Captured Tracks, they released their debut EP The Cold World Melts in July 2010 and issued their self-titled full-length a year later. Soft Metals relocated to Los Angeles and returned with new music in 2013 in the form of their second album Lenses, which featured collaborations with Optimo's J.D. Twitch and focused on the dance aspects of their music.
