Ronald van Gelderen

Kid Vicious is the alias of Dutch DJ and producer Ronald van Gelderen (born in Rotterdam in 1976), who’s made a name for himself in the electronic music scene through his vibrant performances and high-profile collaborations. Besides releasing his own material, he has done remixes for top-tier artists such as Sean Paul and Destiny’s Child’s Kelly Rowland, and has toured extensively throughout the globe. After an initial fling with hip-hop, van Gelderen’s love for EDM inspired him to start producing back in 1997. He made his debut right at the turn of the century, releasing the smashing club hits “Paraphrase” and “Re-Form,” which featured a remix by DJ Tiësto on the B-side. He followed up in 2001 with “Pants Down Spanking,” a collaboration with DJ Nick Kazemian that became hugely successful in the electronic music scene. Following the release of the progressive house hit “Contagious,” van Gelderen teamed up with Ferry Corsten for a remix of “Punk” in 2002. His next single, the powerful trance anthem “Proceed,” was released both in the Netherlands and Spain in 2003, increasing his ever-growing international appeal. Van Gelderen abandoned the Kid Vicious motto for almost a decade to release music under his own name but made a triumphant comeback in 2013 with the D-Wayne collaboration “Turn Your Lights On.”
