RKCB
Los Angeles duo RKCB write vibrant, bass-heavy R&B songs that typically focus on themes such as relationships and romantic uncertainty. Straddling the line between indie electronic, R&B, and pop, their music fits in several different play lists, and this has only worked to their advantage. Tracks such as 2016's "Elevated" and 2017's "Naive" have racked up tens of millions of streams.
Riley Knapp and Casey Barth met as students at USC and soon realized that their music took priority over school. RKCB's debut EP, Short Films, which featured the lead single "Ignite," arrived in 2015 and quickly found success on several streaming platforms. They were also featured on the 2015 single "Speechless" by EDM producer Candyland, which reached number 46 in Billboard's Hot Dance/Electronic Songs chart. The following year, the duo collaborated with Demo Taped (who had previously remixed "Ignite") on "Open Arms" and worked with Opia on "Always." That December, they released their second EP, In Contrast, featuring the single "Elevated." Singles "Naive" and "Bloom" and the collaboration-filled EP RKCB-Sides appeared in 2017; RKCB also guested on Louis Futon's "Surreal" and Ariana & the Rose's "Love You Lately." Another EP, Shores, was released in 2019.
