Ramón Vega
Mexican vocalist Ramon Vega burst onto the music scene in 2021 with his mix of Regional Mexican, R&B, Latin, and reggaeton on the single "Contigo Mami," a reworking of Roy Orbison's "Oh, Pretty Woman."
Hailing from a musical family -- his brother Cornelio Vega and late uncle Sergio "El Shaka" Vega were both successful artists -- Vega inked a deal with Sony Music Latin in 2020 before releasing his debut single "Contigo Mami," a reworking of Roy Orbison's "Oh, Pretty Woman," in early 2021. Its mix of Regional Mexican, R&B, Latin, and reggaeton was an instant hit, with Vega following up the release with a slew of tracks before collecting them on the EP 2000 SIEMPRE. More material emerged as the year went on, including a collaboration with his brother Cornelio on the track "Romántico," before Vega issued his debut album, the seven-track La Nueva R in November.
