Press Club
Inspired by the work of acts such as the Who and Hüsker Dü, Press Club are a four-piece alt-rock/punk outfit from Melbourne, Australia. Formed in 2016, the band quickly became known on the local scene for their loud and brash songs such as "Suburbia" and "Headwreck." Made up of vocalist Natalie Foster, guitarist Greg Rietwyk, bass guitarist Rufio MacRae, and drummer Frank Lees, the group came together out of the ashes of former bands. They spent 2017 writing material and performing throughout Melbourne, earning an ever-burgeoning and committed fan base. In 2018, their single "Suburbia" caught the attention of several Australian radio stations and the band were subsequently picked to perform at the NYE on the Hill and Falls festivals. Mid-2018 saw the group record and produce their debut album in their native Brunswick. The quartet opted to record entirely to tape and relied purely on analog equipment to achieve the more raw and incendiary elements of their sound. They performed a number of shows around Australia and the U.K. before delivering their LP Late Teens, in January 2019. They toured in promotion of the record with the Smith Street Band throughout the early part of the year and quickly returned in August 2019 with a second full-length, Wasted Energy, which featured the track "Thinking About You."
