PAOPAO
Puerto Rican singer/songwriter Paopao is a Latin Grammy-winning performer whose sound blends reggaeton and left-field pop. She debuted with 2020's Paopao and garnered further buzz for several 2022 EP's, including Hembrisimo and Diamantes y Espinas.
Born Paola Nicole Marrero Rodríguez, Paopao grew up moving between Puerto Rico and the Dominican Republic. She began taking piano lessons in pre-school and by her teens was writing her own songs. She enrolled at Miami's Frost School of Music where she majored in Media Writing and Production and ultimately earned her Master’s Degree in Music Business. After college, she embarked on a series of internships, working at publishing companies and music studios, eventually working her way up into writing and producing songs for other artists. It was through that process that she made a name for herself, even taking home a Latin Grammy award for Chiquis' song "Ticket de Salida." In 2020, she released her debut single, "Pal Sex," which caught buzz online, paving the way for her debut full-length, the eponymously titled Paopao, that same year. More albums followed, including the 2022 all-woman EP Hembrisimo, featuring guests La Gabi, Villano Antillano, Aria Vega, and Cami Da Baby. That same year, she delivered the EP Diamantes y Espinas, followed by the expanded Diamante$ + Espina$.
