Kira
The soft indie pop sound of Kira was born when the Wuppertal, Germany native switched from violin lessons to guitar lessons. As soon as she touched the guitar she began writing intelligent pop songs, ignoring her schoolwork, and submitting her music to amateur songwriting competitions. One of these competitions was judged by producer Michael Hagel who soon convinced the songwriter to move to Hamburg. After a year of collaborating and recording the duo was approached by composer Herbert Grönemeyer who signed Kira to his Grönland label. In 2004 the label released her debut album Inauswendig which featured the empowering single "Alte Frauen" along with the melancholy hit "Der Sog." Two years later the single "Wenn Du den Himmel Nicht Aufmachst" announced the coming of her second album, the loose and free Goldfisch.
