Eric Knight

Los Angeles singer/songwriter Eric Knight writes earnest, hook-driven songs that bridge classic hard rock with modern alt-rock. Originally from Miami, he started his solo career in 1998 with Near Life Experience, followed in 2002 by Fractured Fairy Tales. Along the way he picked up coveted opening slots for Kiss, Dave Matthews Band, and Aerosmith before forming Disciples of Babylon, the band that served as his primary focus throughout the 2010s. Knight returned to solo work in 2024 with the single "Out of This World." Born and raised in the Miami suburb of Hialeah, Knight proved to be a self-starter and was already writing and performing his own music during his teenage years. After a stint fronting the Miami hard rock band Vandal, he struck out on his own and self-released his debut album Near Life Experience in 1998. Two years later, Knight's cover of the song "Foolin'" appeared on the 2000 Def Leppard tribute album Tributized, opening doors for the emerging artist who then garnered a high-profile opening slot for Kiss. Knight's sophomore effort, Fractured Fairy Tales, was released in 2002 and he continued to play high-profile shows including a spot with Aerosmith and Kid Rock. By 2008, he had relocated to Los Angeles where a string of successful club appearances helped earn the award for "Outstanding Male Solo Artist" at the Rockies in Hollywood. Knight's next endeavor was a return to collaborative music-making. He formed the hard-driving alt-rock combo Disciples of Babylon in 2012 and the group became a Los Angeles fixture. Along with singles like "Welcome to Babylon" and "Liberty," they released the seven-song EP, The Rise and Fall of Babylon, in 2017. Knight also continued his work behind the scenes as a music industry professional with years of experience in teaching, writing, and developing his own media network. Eventually, Knight felt the pull to create solo music again and began working on new material. Released in 2024, "Out of the World" centered around themes of solitude and alien abduction, introducing a new narrative style to his work.
