Ejecta
Originally known as Ejecta, Young Ejecta is the sensual synth pop collaboration of producer Joel Ford and vocalist/songwriter Leanne Macomber. Ford has worked with a wide range of electronic-based acts, including Tigercity, Autre Ne Veut, Oneohtrix Point Never, and Ford & Lopatin; Macomber has worked with Neon Indian as well as cult dream pop favorites Fight Bite. The pair met on tour in 2009, and after discovering how much they had in common musically, they began collaborating in earnest in 2012. Beginning with the single "Jeremiah (The Denier)," Macomber and Ford conceived of Ejecta as a character that honed their lovelorn musings and hazy sonics into sweeping, emotive electropop songs. The full-length Dominae arrived in late 2013. The following year, the duo changed its name to Young Ejecta after getting a cease-and-desist order from Irish DJ Ejeca. Their first work under the new moniker was 2015's mini-album The Planet.
