Beverly Kills

Beverly Kills aren’t afraid to pave their own way. With their feet on the ground and their heads in the clouds, they balance on the edge between the familiar and the unexplored. Driving post-punk meets scenic pop melodies in contemporary reflections of love, friendship, growing up, and rebellion. The music is infused with joy and unstoppable energy, seldom leaving its surroundings untouched.

With roots in Umeå and Örebro, members Alma Westerlund, Viggo Mattsson, Hampus Höggren, and John Jonsén have found their place in Gothenburg, where they seamlessly found a context together, always with their eyes on the world.

On their 2022 debut album Kaleido, the band expanded further towards dreamier and more danceable elements, without ever losing their distinct post-punk and indie crossover sound. Shortly afterwards, Beverly Kills embarked on a tour in Mexico, and made their SXSW debut in 2023. While simultaneously doing a run of summer festivals in Europe and UK, the band spent their remaining time writing their next full-length album.

The first offering from their upcoming album is Sunset Drive – a flourishing piece of energetic dream pop, yet with a razor sharp indie-rock edge. It centers around a character with an arrogance of icarian proportions that gets into trouble, and a narrator desperately trying to save him. Most of all, it showcases the band’s unique ability to fuse their extremes in terms of genre width, presenting a clear view of what Beverly Kills truly sound like at their core.
