Although the album evokes the feeling of uncertainty and transition that formed the foundation for '90s emo, Intersections, the second proper album from Evan Weiss' solo project Into It. Over It., finds the singer and songwriter standing on solid ground. While Weiss' output with the project has been prolific, Intersections feels more like a real record and less like a songwriting experiment, giving the album a more fully realized feeling than some of his previous efforts. With a sound rooted in plaintive Midwestern emo, this album will definitely stir up feelings of nostalgia for anyone whose youth was scored by the Initial Records catalog, but it's a solid effort in its own right that still has plenty to offer the uninitiated.
