Nikos Skalkottas ̓ (1904-49) Musik wird regelmäßig „wiederentdeckt“, aber bislang hat sie sich nicht etablieren können. Dabei könnte ein Werk wie die hier erstmals aufgenommene „Griechische Suite“, ein originelles frühes Werk des Komponisten, das Repertoire an pittoresker Klaviermusik bereichern. Vorausgesetzt, sie wird mit der Energie aufgeführt, über die Lorenda Ramou verfügt. Die Fülle der eingespielten Stücke schmälert freilich ihre Prägnanz und Individualität; es scheint, als spinne Skalkottas mit jedem neuen Werk das jeweils vorangehende fort.
