Für den Soundtrack des Films „American Stories“, in dem die 2015 verstorbene Chantal Akerman die Erinnerungen von New Yorker Juden einfängt, transkribierte die Cellistin Sonia Wieder-Atherton chassidische Melodien für Cello und Klavier; das Album, auf dem sie von Daria Hovora († 2017) be- und geleitet wird, setzt auch dieser Pianistin ein Denkmal. Der doppelte Trauerton dunkelt die mit herrlich freiem und sanglichem Celloton gespielten Gesänge wie auch Ravels Orchesterwerke zusätzlich ein. Ein hoch emotionales Dokument.
