Das Debütalbum von KT Tunstall „Eye to the Telescope” war ein unglaublicher Erfolg in Großbritannien und schlug schließlich 2006, ein Jahr nach seiner Veröffentlichung, auch in den Staaten wie eine Bombe ein. Auf dieser überzeugenden 12-Song-Ausgabe zeigt die schottische Sängerin/Songwriterin einen sensiblen und anspruchsvollen Hang zum Pop/Rock, der sie irgendwo zwischen Beth Orton und Sheryl Crow einordnet. Der Schlüssel zu Tunstalls Sound ist ihre klingende soulige Stimme; die gewagte, aber nie übertriebene Albumproduktion steigert die Qualität ihrer Songs noch weiter. Obwohl als Hightlights des Albums sicherlich der klingende Track „Another Place to Fall”, der besonders einprägsame Track „Black Horse and the Cherry Tree” und das schlurfende „Suddenly I See” zu nennen sind, ist das gesamte Album überraschend solide und deutet auf eine erfolgreiche Zukunft von Tunstall hin.
